In January 2015, the Journal.ie published their 20 Under 20 list for the year, a selection of Ireland’s “most promising young talent,” from budding sportstars to young scientists to teenage entrepreneurs. I was over the moon after seeing myself on the list and got plenty of congratulations from people who knew me. However, there wasn’t much more in making the list and I quickly forgot about it.

Founded in 2011 by James Whelton, a young Cork-born entrepreneur, and with the help of Australian philanthropist Bill Liao, CoderDojo has grown to become a global movement of free, volunteer-led, community based programming clubs for young people. Welcome to this week’s blog, written by the newest member of the Dogpatch Labs team, me, Naoise. I’m the one who is usually unlocking the door for you and answering any stationery needs you may have.
